The Bátonyterenye-based SungEel Hitech Hungary Ltd., engaged in the recycling of lithium-ion batteries, seriously endangered its employees, which resulted in a fine of eight and a half million forints imposed by the labor protection authority. According to the issued decision, 13 individuals were exposed to serious endangerment. The authorities have already fined the waste processing company several times for serious omissions, and now the company aims to increase its capacity to 52,000 tons per year. The quantity of defective and faulty batteries is expected to increase because the recently approved Samsung investment in Göd and the SK Innovation battery plant in Iváncsa will soon begin operations.
